Herman E. Albers 74, Of 911 Hamilton died at 8 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, where he had been a patient since Jan., 14. Services were to be at 1 p.m. today at The Endsley and Son-Hines Funeral Home, Bartonville, with the Rev. Francis Guither officiating. Burial was to be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria. He was born Dec 28, 1900 at Hallam, Neb., a son of William and Anna Schmidt Albers. He married Emma Pierce Aug. 1,1924, at Joliet . She died Sept. 11, 1974 Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Smith, Peoria, and Mrs. Gladys Vaughn, Kingston Mines: a son Thomas H., White Bear Lake, Minn., a sister Mrs. Martha Steckman, Pine River, Minn.; nine grandchildren and 11 great- grand-children.
Two brothers and two sisters, in addition to his wife, preceded him in death. Mr. Albers was employed with the Rock Island Railroad 44 years until his retirement seven years ago. He was a member And former secretary of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Ways Men
